Daughters of Erin a play by Carolyn Myers & Elizabeth Roden
World Premiere presented in 1983 by Lilith, the San Francisco women's theatre group.
The play was based on the true story of the first agit-prop street-theatre group of modern times, The Daughters of Erin, formed in 1917 to lobby for an independant Ireland. One of the members of the all-women troupe became the first woman member of Parliament, another member formed the organization that became known as Amnesty.
